Adoración y Misión
En proceso de reconstrucción
The Holy Eucharist, or Mass, is the heart of the life and work of this Christian community. Sunday by Sunday we come together to hear and proclaim the word of God, and to give thanks together over gifts of bread and wine for God's goodness in all of creation. In common with Christians of every age, we remember God's saving acts in the past, especially in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. We proclaim Christ's liberating presence among us now, and we look forward in hope to the coming of God's Kingdom of justice and peace on earth.
As we share the spiritual food and drink of new and unending life in Christ , our union with him and one another is strengthened, and we are given a foretaste of the heavenly banquet that awaits us in his reign.
Our worship is carefully reverent and we are not without a certain awe as we encounter those great saving acts through which God has entered and redeemed our world. At the same time, we are at ease in our family home, and our reverence is joined with a kind of relaxed enjoyment of the feast prepared for us. The inequalities that exist in the world are pushed aside, and everybody is welcome. No one need feel out of place here, or worry much about not "doing the right thing." There is no "dress code", no one will be embarrassed by being singled out, and you do not have to be an Episcopalian to share the Holy Communion.
Much as we love Trinity Church and the fellowship and nourishment we find within its walls, our Baptismal Covenant will not let us rest there, but quickly sends us out into the world as agents of God's love. We carry out this mission in personal prayer, contemplation, and intercession, in self-giving service to others, and in witnessing and working for the justice and peace of God's Kingdom, for whose coming on earth we pray daily. Some of us may be better at one or another of these three facets of a balanced Christian life, and one of the ways we need each other is to make up for our individual specializations. But we try to hold them together.
We recognize that sincere Christians may not always agree on the best ways to achieve the justice and peace we all are bound to seek, and we respect the right and duty of individual Christians to inform themselves and come to their own conclusions in regard to particular issues. But because God particularly loves them, we find our natural place among "the poor and the helpless, the cold, the hungry and the oppressed, the sick and those who mourn, the lonely and unloved, the aged and little children" -- those "on the margins" of a society whose gods are wealth and power,
You are warmly invited to join us for worship on Sunday and other occasions in the church, and to join with us and others in striving for justice and peace in the city and the world, resisting all that corrupts and destroys the creatures of God.
Pacto Bautismal
