Health and Health Care at Trinity
At Trinity we actively seek to continue the healing ministry of Jesus Christ in our present postmodern, urban, and multi-cultural environment. We do this in several ways. Healing prayers are offered to interested individuals in the Lady Chapel just after the 10am (English language) mass.
In addition, we have our own Parish Nurse who is supported by the QueensCare Health and Faith Partnership (QHFP). QHFP is a division of QueensCare, a community based health care organization whose mission is to provide, directly or with others, accessible health care for uninsured and low-income working individuals and families residing in Los Angeles County. Tim Wright, RN, MPH, Ph.D. is available for health consultations Sundays between Noon and 3pm and Tuesdays between 4pm and 7pm. His services are FREE and include the following:
- Health Education and Consultations
- Emotional Support
- Referrals to Free or Low Cost Medical Care
- Home Visitations to the Ill
Trinity also has an active Health Cabinet. Focused largely on prevention, health maintenance, and the early detection of health problems, the Health Cabinet and Parish Nurse offer such events as:
- Blood Sugar Testing
- Blood Pressure Testing
- Cholesterol Screenings
- Tuberculosis Skin Tests, and
- CPR Training
See the Church bulletin or the Health Cabinet Bulletin Board to learn about the current health promotion offerings!
